“But…I’ve never heard of camelina”
Neither had we. But really, there’s nothing new about it. The Celts were already using this nutritious plant back in the Bronze Age.
Camelina sativa (to us its full name), is native to Europe and has pretty much been forgotten as a crop. But it produces a delicious oil which naturally contains high omega 3 (35.66g per 100g!) and antioxidants. It’s got a light flavour, with hints of fresh peas and almonds, and a high smoke point of 246°C.
With all this goodness, we knew it deserved a comeback. So now we grow camelina without pesticides on our family farm in Scotland. Then it’s carefully cold pressed and bottled, to preserve all the goodness. We hope you enjoy it!
